For Monday, you should
a) read "Who the Hell is Tauriel: The New Female Prototype," one of the student samples I handed out in class on Thursday. As you read it, write comments in the margins about what's working, what isn't, and what questions it raises for you. (There were a few pieces in there; make sure you're reading the right one.); and
b) sift through what you have from our readings, homework, discussions, etc., as well as the feedback from your classmates from Thursday, and write a proposal for your essay. (This is the updated version of the proposal.) The proposal format involves setting out some ideas, doing some research and thinking, and then fine-tuning those ideas. In that way, you shouldn’t be able to fill out the proposal immediately. You’ll need to look over the questions, think about them, do some research, and then write it up.
This proposal should be in your Google Shared folder by class on Monday. Also, you should have a hard copy in class on Monday.
